For more than 200 years, Washington, DC has been home to brilliant writers, artists, and activists of color whose vital work continues to resonate across time and space.
And for over 30 years, Young Playwrights’ Theater has contributed to that tradition through programs and productions impacting the lives of more than 30,000 young artists and 100,000 audience members across the DC region.
This year alone, we will reach more than 1,000 youth playwrights through in-school residencies, career mentorship, and after-school and summer programs offered five days a week, year-round. And we will celebrate the brilliance of these young voices through an inspiring season of performances on stages across the region.
But we can’t do it without you.
You can be the spark that ignites brilliance in our region’s youth. Will you help us pass the torch from DC’s cultural ancestors to the next generation of powerful, artistic voices?
