Throughout the 2021-22 school year, the Student Emerging Arts Leaders (S.E.A.L.) of Sitar Arts Center participated in YPT’s program SAFER (Students Advocating for the Eradication of Racism). Through a series of discussions among themselves and community guest speakers about social issues that affect their everyday lives, SAFER participants devised a performance project that explored what it means to feel safe in one’s community and in one’s unique identity.
