Silence is Violence: Wish Me Well will feature performances and poetry exploring wellness within the body.
Through a partnership with Voices Unbarred, seven playwrights interviewed Voices Unbarred Community Advocates to gain new inspiration to what being “well” can mean for those from a variety of different backgrounds, perspectives, and situations in life.
Three showings are available – Friday, 6/21/24 at 7:30 pm and Saturday, 6/22/24 at 2 pm and 7:00 pm. All performances will be live at the Prince George’s Community College Center for Performing Arts 301 Largo Rd, Largo, MD 20774. Tickets to livestream all three performances are also available. WARNING: There will be the use of strobe lights.

About Silence is Violence
Since its inception in 2015, Silence Is Violence has been YPT’s most immediate and direct route of addressing social justice issues affecting Washington, DC area youth through performance and community dialogue. With these young people’s permission, YPT shapes their words into a theatrical production featuring professional performers, furthering YPT’s vision that young people’s voices are not only significant but also powerful.
About Voices Unbarred
Voices Unbarred centers the voices of people impacted by incarceration, and collaborates with theatre practitioners and policy organizations, to creatively reimagine the prison system and advocate for change. Through theatre and justice workshops, script writing, and interactive performances, participants affected by incarceration in the DC area are given a platform to share their stories, tackle complex issues, and lead the criminal justice reform movement.
